Support Professional

·         Statewide Award: To recognize one individual or group whose support, partnership, or behind-the-scenes contribution has had a measurable, transformative impact across multiple NAEM regions or statewide emergency management operations.

 Eligible nominees may include individuals, groups, agencies, associations, private-sector partners, nonprofit organizations, or any entity—internal or external to NAEM—that has significantly advanced emergency management in Nebraska.

 ·         Regional Awards: To recognize one individual or group within each of the NAEM regions that provides essential support to emergency management efforts within that region and demonstrates exceptional commitment to local and regional preparedness.

 Eligible nominees include individuals or groups, internal or external to NAEM, whose efforts strengthen emergency management within a specific region of Nebraska.

  New EM of the Year: Emergency Management Professional who, at the time of the annual conference, has served 24 months or less in the position and, during that time, has displayed enthusiasm while making specific accomplishments and/or improvements in the local program.  Must be an Association member in good standing. 

 Deputy Director or Administrator of the Year:This person works directly with the Emergency Manager and should exemplify the ideal of the professional Emergency Manager, have high principles of community preparedness, have a personal dedication to the safety of local citizens, have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to the Association of its members, or exhibit an exceptionally high standard of leadership and professionalism as the Emergency Manager would during response to a disaster situation and may fill the role in the event the EM is unavailable.  Must be an Association member in good standing.

 EM of the Year: Should exemplify the ideal of professional public service, have high principles of community preparedness, have a personal dedication to the safety of local citizens, have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to the  Association or its members, or have exhibited an exceptionally high standard of leadership and professionalism during response to a disaster situation.  Must be an Association member in good standing.

 Lifetime: member in good standing of the Association for a minimum of 15 Years. Should be an individual recognized for their longstanding and unwavering commitment as a member in good standing. They should exhibit a notable history with the organization, marked by longevity of membership and significant contributions. Additionally, their consistent engagement and positive impact within the organization are essential. The ideal candidate will also embody the values and ethics of the organization, serving as an exemplary representative. Peer recognition for their dedication and achievements is also critical in the selection process.
